It was a packed house for the 4th Annual Pitching in the Pecans, put on by Jimmy Fricks, in Fort Worth on October 19th. Prior to the night's main events there was a brisket cook off and pie judging, along with a corn hole tournament, several vendors for shopping and food, and concert.
The bulls were ready to buck and made the cowboys earn their paychecks. It was a fight to make a qualified ride and those that lasted the 8 seconds wowed the crowds. In between events and rounds there were laser shows compete with glow sticks handed out to the audience to get the crowds involved in the show.
The extreme calf roping was also a novel and entertaining concept with the each rider nodding their head to release the calf in to the small arena which presented a unique challenge and level of difficulty as ropers had to chase their calf around versus down the arena. The closer quarters put extra pressure on the calf roper to have a fast draw.
The day of family fun and entertainment wrapped up with a dazzling firework show and concert.
