June 6-8 kicked off the 87th Coleman PRCA Rodeo. This rodeo first was held in 1936 as a way to celebrate Texas' 100th anniversary. Over the years the rodeo has grown in size to become the PRCA rodeo it is today but it still does its best to keep the traditions alive of those early rodeo days.
Will Lowe took first in the bareback riding with an 87.5 point ride on Smith Pro Rodeos' Neurotic Toddy. In the bulldogging Jay Williamson got it down in 4.1 second for a first place. Reno Stoebner/Colton Brittain took first in the team roping with a quick 4.5 second run. In the saddle bronc riding Jarrod Hammons took first with a solid 86.5 point ride on Smith Pro Rodeos' Sunset Trail. Roan Hudson took first in the tie-down roping with a 9.1 second run. Chloe Gray's quick 17.31 second run earned her a first in the barrel racing. And in the bull riding Trey Holston took first with an 88 point ride on Smith Pro Rodeos' Conair.
In the first round of the steer roping J7 Bland took first for his 13.2 second run. Seth Schafer took first in the second round with an 11.7 second run. In the third round Will Eddleman took first with a 10.8 second run. Cole Patterson took first in the average with 39.5 seconds on three head.
