PBR Louisville Recap

Round One


The final regular-season PBR Unleash The Beast event of 2024 took place last Friday in Louisville, Kentucky. Andrew Alvidrez won Round. He was matched with Constitutional Carry of Jim & Shannon Barr/Hookin W Ranch with an unrivaled 88.25 points ride for first and earned him a crucial 28 Unleash The Beast points.


Eduardo Aparecido who is in the top five finished fourth in Round 1, earning 16 Unleash The Beast points and moved from 3rd to 2nd; however, Aparecido in his 85.75 point ride on Always Been Crazy of Harrison Cattle Co85.75 points was knocked unconscious while riding and sustained a concussion and it is doubtful if he will be able to compete in Round 2.


Cassio Dias placed third with an 86.75 point ride on Let’s Roll of Stoltzfus/Bob & Jerry Adams/BS Cattle Co gaining 17 Unleash The Beast points. He is now ahead of new No. 2 Aparecido by 499.33 points.


Jesse Petri placed second with his 87.25-point ride on Rank Hank of TR Cattle/Barthold &



Eldred and earned an additional 18 Unleash The Beast points. he also advanced from No. 34 to No. 31 in the standings.


Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Dalton Kasel with an 85 point ride on Tick of Whitehead Cattle. The 2019 PBR Rookie of the Year gained 15 Unleash The Beast points and moved to No. 4 in the standings, now 544.33 points back of No. 1 Dias.


Round 2 & Championship Round


Cassio Dias went 2-for-3 to win the Cooper Tires PBR Louisville solidifying his No. 1 rank in the World Championship race. It was Dias' 7th win of the regular season and a PBR record. Not only will this be his career-first PBR World Finals appearance, Dias could get both the World Championship and Rookie of the year after leading the riders with 8x 90 point rides and overall round wins. Although he was tossed in 3.79 sec by Smooth Steel of Flying C/Tom Baker, he rallied back in the Championship round with an 88.75 point ride on Do Dat of Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell/Delmas/Williams. Dias walked away with a nice check for $47,77,115 Unleash The Beast points, and remains No. 1 in the World Championship race


Crimber advanced to the championship round with his Round 2 winning ride of 88.75-point on Renegade of Hale/Vella/Ogden/Hart. Crimber was sent flying in the Championship round after 4.97 sec by Doze You Down of Dozier Cattel Co./Martinez Bucking Bulls.



Kasel took an early lead on Top Dollar with an electric 89.75 point ride. Aparecido was unable to ride due concussion the previous night. Souza was unable to make it to the buzzer and was unseated by Hunting Trip in 2.27 secs.


Aparecido tied for ninth overall to collect 19 Unleash The Beast points and moved to No. 4 in the standings. Mason Taylor is tied for second alongside Kasel to net 77 Unleash The Beast points.

Taylor had a solid 86.25 point ride on Mr. Nightlinger on of Lucas Manning Bucking Bulls followed by an 88.5-point ride in the championship round on Norse God of Jane Clark/Gene Owen and moved from No. 40 to No 32.



*The 2024 PBR Unleash The Beast season will conclude May 9-19 in Fort Worth and Arlington, Texas, with the 2024 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast when the 2024 PBR World Champion will be crowned, receiving the coveted gold buckle and $1 million bonus.

This May, the event will debut a new three-part format, all the while awarding a record $3.13 million. Competition begins with Eliminations on May 9-12, followed by Ride For Redemption on May 15-16, both at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth. Bull riding’s most prestigious event will then conclude with the Championship on May 18-19 at AT&T Stadium in nearby Arlington.
