Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth turned into cowboy/cowgirl coliseum this past weekend with the top 15 rookies in each event competing against each other for a first place check. Luckily unlike in Oakdale, the arena is indoors so there was no wrestling in mud for the bulldoggers or tie down ropers. The storms didn't keep away crowds as rodeo fans packed the arena and Stockyards all weekend. In the bareback, Weston Timberman took first for his 85 point ride on Pickett Pro Rodeo Co's Night Star in the final round. Parker Sandstrom took first in the final round with a fast 4.8 seconds run. First in the finals round of team roping went to Ben Jordan and Scott Lauaki for their 4.5 seconds round. Carter Sandberg took first in the final round spurring one out for a 79 point ride on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo's Dirty Jacket. In the final round of tie down roping Chance Rodriguez took first for 7.7 seconds. Oceane Veilleux took first in the final round of barrel racing for her 13.19 sec run. In the bull riding, the bulls were not playing nice and there were few qualifed rides. Brandon Ballard took first in the finals for his 0 point ride on on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo's Smokey.
