Rimbey Rodeo Recap

Ladies and gents the wait is over and Canada's Spring rodeo season has officially kicked with Rimbey in Alberta this past weekend.

Jacob Stemo was in the money with a 80.5 point bareback ride after taking a year off walking away with a $592.2. He came in second behind winner Chett Deitz who had the winning ride with  85.5 points on Duffy Rodeo’s 901 Miss Demeanor. Dallas Hay took third with his 78.5 point ride and $394.8.4th was Justin Myers, with a 78, $197.40

In the steer wrestling Ryan Shuckburgh won first with a 4.0 sec run earning him $1384. 2nd went to Clayton Moore with a 4.1 sec run, $1151.50. 3rd place was Ty Livingstone with a 4.3 sec run, $978.78. 4th was Denver Roy, 4.4, $806.05; 5th, Craig Weisgerber, 4.5, $633.33; 6th Quentin Branden, 4.6, $460.60; 7th Coltin Crawford, 4.8, $287.88; and 8th Garrett Cullum, 5.0, $115.15.

Riley Warren and header Nick Teixeira won the team roping with a 4.5 sec run earning him $1567. Warren also took home an additional $1071 for his 3rd place finish in the tie-down roping. 2nd and 3rd place was a tie between Tyce Mcleod/Grady Quam and Logan Spady/Kash Bonnett, with both teams stopping the clocks at 4.9 sec for $1162.07 each.

Nicholas Patterson brought home a check as well in the saddle back bronc riding with a 87 score and a check of $789 on Duffy Rodeo’s Bay Moon. Dyllan Duperron took 2nd with 82 point ride, $592.20. 3rd was Colt Smith, with a 77.5, $394.80.4th place was Lachlan Miller, 74.5, $197.40

Chelsea Moore’s had a winning 14.84 barrel racing run earning her $1046. 2nd went to Bailey Smith for her 14.85 sec run, $896.76. Third place was a tie between Tammy Lee Taylor and Taylor Manning for their 14.92 runs earning each $697.48. 5th Kirby Finkbeiner, 14.93, $498.20; 6th Caitlin McArthur, 14.95, $398.56; 7th Brittney Barr, 14.98, $298.92; 8th Shelby Spielman, 14.99, $199.28; 9th (tie) Kate Beierbach and Jayden Wilson, 15.03, $124.55

Grady Young enjoyed his first pro win with an 84 point bull ride on Duffy’s Smooth Off for $789 plus $1185 being the only one of the bull riders to make it to the 8 sec buzzer.
