Another big Texas rodeo was held March 15-29th in Austin and with over half a million in payout, the top cowboys and cowgirls showed up and showed out. Beutler & Son Rodeo, Rafter G Rodeo, Powder River Rodeo, Dakota Rodeo, Andrews Rodeo and Diamond G Rodeo provided the stock and Austin Ashley, Chuck Swisher, and Weston Rutkowski kept the bull riders safe.
In the first round of the bareback riding, Rocker Steiner took first with a huge 88 point ride on Guitar Town (Dakota Rodeo) for $5,072. Tanner Aus took first in the Semifinal Round with an 87 points on Wild N Out (Dakota Rodeo) and first in the Final Round with a near perfect 91 points on Good Girl (Diamond G Rodeo) for $10,340.
Heath Thomas took first in the First Round of the steer wrestling with his 3.5 second run for $4,544. There was a tie for first in the Second Round between Ty Bauerle and Tanner Brunner who both stopped the clock at 3.6 seconds for $4,247 each. Will Lummus took first in the Final Round with a 3.8 second run for $2,000. First in the average went to Logan Kenline for 12.9 seconds on three head.
Dustin Egusquiza & Levi Lord took first in the First Round with a 3.9 second for $4,440 each. In the Second Round, Shay Dixon Carroll& Logan Moore took first with their 3.9 second for $4,440 each. Cyle Denison & Lane Mitchell took first in the Finals with a 4.9 second for $2,000 each. First in the average went to Marcus Theriot & Wyatt Cox for 13.9 seconds on three head to take home $6,660 each.
There was a tie for first in the First Round of the saddle bronc riding between Chase Brooks, on Cactus Rose (Rafter G Rodeo) and Stetson Dell Wright, on Orange Crush (Rafter G Rodeo) with both scoring huge 87 point rides for $4,805 each. There was a three-way tie for first in the Semifinal Round between Coleman Shallbetter, on Cash Deal (Dakota Rodeo) Lefty Holman, on Another Mistake (Beutler & Son Rodeo) and Statler Wright, on Dr. Charlie (Diamond G Rodeo) with all scoring 87 point rides each. Quintin Taylor took first in the Final Round with a near flawless 90 point ride on Hammer Stone (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $10,340. Stetson Dell Wright just barely missed tying for first with an 89.5 on Foul Motion (Beautler & Son Rodeo) for $7,755. Stetson also was awarded all-around cowboy to take home an additional $25,330 for competing in saddle bronc riding and bull riding.
Cash Hooper took first in the First Round of the tie-down roping with his 7.9 second run for $4,440. In the Second Round, Haven Meged took first with a 7.5 second run for $4,440. Tuf Cooper took first in the Finals with an 8.5 second run for $2,000 and first in the average for 27.1 seconds on three head to take home an additional $6,660.
In First Round of the the barrel racing, Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi took first with her15.08 second run for $7,073. Andrea Busby took first in the Semifinal Round with her 15.19 second run. And Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi took first again in the Final Round with her 15.10 second run to earn an additional $11,280.
Addie Weil took first in the First Round of the breakaway roping with a 1.6 second run for $7,073. Britta Strain took first in the Semifinal Round with a 1.7 second run. Rylee George took first in the Final Round with a 1.7 second run for $11,280.
Wacey Schalla took first in the bull riding with a near perfect 90.5 point ride on Dump Truck (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $5,072, first in the Semifinals with another 90.5 points on A18 (Andrews Rodeo), and first in the Final Round with a huge 91.5 points on Gangster Walk (Beutler & Son Rodeo) for $14,218.
