The Hooey Jr Patriot Rodeo

One of the richest rodeos for 19U, The Hooey Jr Patriot Rodeo, was held March 16th at Will Roger's Coliseum in Fort Worth, TX attracting some of the most talented upcoming rodeo athletes from the US and Canada 19 and under. The two weeks of events consisted of several jackpots, last chance qualifiers, semifinals, a final round and bonus round, paying out over 1.6 million in prize money.


In the semifinals of the barrel racing, Molly Dismuke took first with her 15,330 second run to take home $1600. Rylee Jo Maryman took, who played 5th in the semifinals with a 15.460 second run for $7,650, took first in the finals with a 15.308 second run to take home another $40 grand. The total payout for the barrel racing was $237,010.


There were two semifinal rounds in the breakaway roping with each first place winner taking home $4,500. In the first semifinal round, Harley Pryor took first with a lightning fast 1.62 second run and first in the average with 4.43 for an additional $4,500. In the second semifinal round, Hadlee Huckabee took first with her 2.09 second run. Kylie Reininger took first in the finals with a 2.08 second run to take home a heft $50,000 check. The total payout for breakaway was $212,211 with an additional $5,000 added by Rattler Ropes.


There were also two semifinal rounds in the goat tying with each winner earning $1,250.00. Alli Autry took first in the first semifinal round with a quick 6.07 second run. Drew Ellen Stewart took first in the second round with a 6.14 second run. Sadie Patterson took first in the average for 12.52 for $1,250.00. In the finals, Alyssa Gary took first with a 6.55 second run for $10,000. Total payout for the goat tying was $41,500.


Merrick Moyer took first in the pole bending with a 20.025 second run for $3,000 and took first in the finals with a 20.119 second run for $15,000. The total payout for pole bending was $70,030.


Jake Shelton and Jake Holmes dominated in the steer wrestling. Jake Shelton took 1st in round one of the semifinals with a 4.63 second run for $700, third in round two with a 5.92 second run for $280, and fourth in the finals with a 6.57 second run for $1,039. Jake Holmes took third in round one with a 5.00 second run for $280, second in round two of the semifinals with a 5.32 for $420, and second in the finals with a 5.40 second run for $3,000. Jessie Olson took first in the final round with a 4.96 second run for $4,500. The total payout for steer wrestling was $14,739.


Although there wasn't any rough stock events in the finals, there were trot bull and mini bull events. Hoover Munuz took first in the 6 & Under Walk-Trot Bulls with a 66 for $780.00. Bronson Santana took first in the 10-12 Jr Mini Bulls with a score of 82 for $780. And Willie Walling took first with an 88 points in the 13-15 Sr Mini Bulls for $1,060.


Dillion Grote took first in the first round of the tie down roping with a 7.90 second run for $2,500. Tyler Calhoun took first in the second round with an 8.49 second run for $2,500. First in the average went to Zane Rampey for 17.52 seconds, which earned him a $2,500 check. Myles Nixon took first in the finals with a 8.97 second run for $22,000. The total payout for tie down roping was $83,925.


In the first round of the semifinals for the 19U # 10.5 team roping, Lucas Dunn & Jace Davis took first with a 6.98 second run for $2,000. Ryder Davis & Cuatro Donnell took first in the second semifinal round with a 6.75 second run for $2,000. In the final, Coby Mazurkiewics & Sloan King took first with a fast 5.16 second run for $30,000. The total payout for the 19U # 10.5 team roping was $100,900.


In the 19U Open team roping, Gabe Williams & Ryder Davis took first in the first semifinal round with a 5.91 second run for $1,500. Ketch Kelton & Denton Dunning took first in the second semifinal round with a 5.31 second run for $1,500. Tyler Tryan & Denton Dunning took first in the average with 13.76 for $2,000. Ketch Kelton & Little Michael Calmelat took first in the finals with a quick 3.73 second run for $15,000. Ketch Kelton also took second in the finals paired with healer Denton Dunning for a 4.16 second fun for $8,500. The total payout for 19U Open team roping was $46,850.
