Ute Mountain Round-Up

Colorado had one of their big rodeos June 6-8 in Cortez, Cortez with the Ute Mountain Round-Up. Thousands of rodeo fans packed the grandstands for the Ute Mountain Round-Up. The cowboys and cowgirls came ready to compete and take home some of $81,000.


Keenan Hayes took first in the bareback riding with an 85 point ride on Powder River Rodeo's Tug Boat. In the steer wrestling Jace Logan took first with a 4.9 second run. Jake Clay/Trey Yates took first in the team roping with a fast 4.4 second run. Allen Boore took first in the saddle bronc riding with an 84.5 point ride on Powder River Rodeo's Dirty Work. In the tie-down roping Jake Hannum took first with his 8.7 second run. Doskie Edwards took first in the barrel racing with a 17.35 second run. And in the bull riding Scottie Knapp took first with an 83.5 point ride on Powder River Rodeo's No. 85h. All-around cowboy went to Josh Frost who competed in the bull riding and tie-down roping.
